I have been wanting to paint some sunflowers for quite a while now. I think the yellow pitcher made a perfect "vase". The pitcher is enamelware from Poland. I was thrilled to come across it at a local flea market! Polish sunflowers grow much larger than they do in Texas so, here is my painting of large sunflowers in my very special Polish pitcher!
24x30, oil on canvas
Very much like your brushwork on this one, Gaye!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Gaye! I love the treatment of the background - the colors glow and the blue shadow really makes the pitcher pop.
ReplyDeleteI also like how I can click on the image and see a much larger version. Larger than most I've seen - very nice.
Your blog site is breathtaking. I had no idea you are so talented with oil paints. I love the Polish Sunflowers. Blue and Yellow are Swedish colors! (I'm Swedish)
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of blue and yellow. It's one of my favorite color combos.
ReplyDeleteYou have a knack for capturing the life in flowers.
